I've just seen a tradesman's van drive past. He is, according to the sign on the aforesaid van, an expert in wall tie replacement and crack stitching.
How do you become a crack stitcher? Why become a crack stitcher? Is there an apprenticeship? Is it something to aspire to?
There are so many things I need to know about crack stitching! Please help!

Aahhh, the return of the Craic Maker! Good to have you back :-) I thought for a wee moment that DJ has locked you away in a cupboard ;-) TFx
TF, I did lock him in one of our cupboards but I had to let him out again because he enjoyed it too much!
Good to have you back, Chopper.
For your information, crack stitching is used to strengthen masonry where it is unstable, often vertical cracks, but not always. Reinforced rods are bonded into bed joints and grouted into place.
Bet you didn’t expect that from me.
Alternatively, there is (apparently) a top floor bedsit with blackout curtains on the high road near me that does something similar at reasonable rates (cash only).
I'm glad I read the comments before embarassing myself with the question 'what the hell is a Crack Stitcher' Now I know....I'm slightly dissapointed....I much prefered Joe's 2nd explanation!!

Glad your back. Did you write a new book whilst you were gone?
I haven't a clue about crack stitchers but it sounds dangerous. ;)
Only advice I can offer would be to ask for a local anaesthetic first.
Glad to see proof finally that you both blog and be a married man.
TF; Am I back? Who knows? Cupboards are not to be scoffed at!
DJ; I could get out whenever I wanted. Whenever!
JS; I thought it was something to do with builders but generally when they bent over in a largely populated area!
C; It's fine to embarass yourself here, most people do. Just look at me!
N; The most I've written has been about crack stitching I'm afraid!
T; Not really one for multi-tasking I'm afraid!
